Live Entertainment returns!
All scheduled Capitol Theatre shows for September move to TRECC - ‘The show can go on’!
Entertainment Venues announced today that all events scheduled at the Capitol Theatre for September will now be presented at Tamworth Regional Entertainment Conference Centre (TRECC) in the Intimate Theatre mode.
Peter Ross, Manager Entertainment Venues, said, “By moving Capitol Theatre shows to TRECC we are able to still maintain capacity but also deliver the social distancing requirements that are in place. TRECC has the capability to still offer an intimate experience for audiences but has the added ability to provide much better foyer and amenities flow so that people can maintain the 1.5m as they move into and out of the building.”
All tickets currently issued will be valid and the rows and seat numbers will remain the same as the Capitol Theatre allocation. Our Box Office will be emailing out new e-tickets to customers so that the scanning process on the day can run much more smoothly. If you don’t have an email address then you can pop into the Capitol Box Office to secure your new tickets or you can present your old ones on the night. Ideally though, having the new tickets with the QR code on them will make your experience on the night much smoother.
The following shows will now be presented at TRECC in August and September
Magic Beach Monday 31 August @ 6pm
Tuesday 1 September @ 10:30am & 12:30pm
The Rock Show Oz Edition Friday 4th September @ 8pm
The Studio: Student Solo Showcase Saturday 5th September @ 1:30pm
The Studio: Chapter One Saturday 5th September @ 6pm
Sunday 6th September @ 11am
Les Diva’s Friday 11th September @ 8pm
Gone Too Soon Saturday 12th September @ 8pm
The Box Office and the Doors to TRECC will open 1 hr prior to the event to enable patrons to grab a refreshment and then head straight to their seats, thus reducing crowding in the foyer.
Customers are advised that when they arrive at TRECC they can assist the entry process by having their tickets ready for checking or scanning. They will also be asked to locate their tickets in their phone or wallet prior to getting to the doors and make sure the brightness is turned up on their phones.
The TRECC Snack Bar and Bar services will still be available but customers must make their purchase and move to their designated seat for consumption while seated.
This announcement comes off the back of Entertainment Venues original announcement, on 13 July, that there was a plan for ‘the show to go on!’.
Tamworth is extremely well placed in regards to venues. There are very few regional cities that have the capacity to move between venues depending on the size and current restrictions. Ross said, “With this in mind we announced that regardless of whether the current restrictions remain or were lifted we could confidently assure people that our events will be proceeding for the rest of 2020 - now’s the time for the first of those moves to TRECC. We will make further announcements as we get closer to other events.”
The Entertainment Venues team has its COVIDSafe Plan in place with the safety of customers, staff and performers at the top of their list as they plan for the first show slated from 31 August, 2020.
The family and children’s book Magic Beach is the first event to be presented.
Ross was enthusiastic when he said, “I think Magic Beach is a great way to start our journey back to live performance. I hope that we see families step out for the hour long show on Monday 31 August at 6pm. It’s only an hour in the theatre, we will have all the measures in place to ensure their experience is a safe one.”
People can find out more about these events and more by going to entertainmentvenues.com.au or by calling the Capitol Theatre Box Office on 6767 5200.
